A Spark: A poem for those who Light the Way.

I see your pain

It sweeps over me

It connects somewhere deep

In a place I’ve yet taken time to go

To truly know

And yet this place

That holds my truth

Patiently waits and speaks

Quietly in times of stillness

Waiting for me to be brave

For me to feel

I see your pain

It holds onto me

I stand frozen

Knowing all too well I can not heal

For others what they can not see

So I take a breath

And close my eyes

Stepping into the space

Where my heart breaks

Slowing moving forward

Letting the light in

And maybe someday

You can follow

A lightened path created

From a spark deep within

Brought forward

Because of the love

That nurtured my courage

And urged me forward

A love not meant to stay

To suffer alone

And feel your pain
