There’s a time in a womans life when maturity knocks on the door and the menopause is the hand that turns the door handle and let’s it in.
It begins with our bodies changing in unexpected ways that we sometimes actively hate. And it’s not only that we’re changing physiologically at this time but this is a transition that opens up an opportunity for reflection and the possiblility to change the way we choose to live our life going forward. If we can approach this transformative time with compassion and a positive attitude we experience the menopause as a time for awakening our innate feminine wisdom, which creates a segway to helping others.
We are familiar with the symptoms of the menopause, which so often create resistance. We’re resisting getting older. But cultivating awareness and seeking support makes the journey easier. Talk to your doctor, your therapist, your loved ones. And set the intention and take action to focus on the fundamentals that give a strong base for living well – diet, exercise, sleep and time for relaxation.
But critically a positive attitude is the key to the thriving through menopause. Awareness, acceptance, courage and kindness are all qualities that are needed at this time. And a big dose of patience! Ask your loved ones and colleagues to be patient. And more importantly give yourself the time to adjust.
Accepting your menopause is a step change in your wisdom. You gain perspective on this change and see it in a more positive light. That it is something natural, feminine and transformative.
