“Walk away! GOD does not want you dancing with the devil.” – said  a perfect stranger to others about my intuitive healing work.

Ya know, I don’t rant very often, but I’m feelin’ feisty. If I had a quarter for every time someone like this called me and my work evil….

This comment was on a FACEBOOK post I made for a free intuitive Angel Healing series that I released. Seems basic enough. Not the most Bible-thumping comment that I’ve seen about my work. Easy for me to brush these comments off…usually.

However, having recently come back from Peru, doing deep work with the local Shaman and the lands of the Sacred Valley, I have a couple of deets I’d like to highlight about this kind of mind-set.

Belief systems like this, that push the religious fear-based agenda against mystical and other minority spiritual practices, come with a horrific racist, classist, and violent history.

For millennia, humans have used GOD to HATE, JUDGE, SUBJUGATE, CONTROL, TORTURE, ABUSE, and KILL the masses that didn’t follow the spiritual call in exactly the same way as those in power.

From the inquisition to the missionaries, this kind of thinking is responsible for the attempted mass extermination, annihilation, and rape of our world’s most sacred indigenous practices and feminine wisdom. And it all begins with “the righteous” of the dominant culture, accusing “the other” of some kind of heresy in one form or another.

Devils! Infidels! Savages! Witches! Blasphemers! The Damned!

Burnings, beheadings, ethnic cleansings, slaughtering of men, women, and children because of this so-called, “dancing with the devil.” And it’s still happening today in some parts of the world. Even in America.

And so what do I really want to say to this woman?

No, I don’t want to pray for her and send her away with blessings, so that I can spiritually bypass the deep pain that this kind of mindless-evil-calling has historically caused to the soul of this planet.

I want to tell her, WRONG GOD.

The God of Love doesn’t live in your judgment, your paranoia, or your fear.

S/He lives in the Trees.
In the Water.
In the Land.
In the Animals.
In the Mountains.
In the Air.
In your Heart,
and even in the mystical and indigenous eyes with which your religion has systematically worked to demonize, dismiss, and delete.

Over the years, humans have lost our authentic connection to love, to our hearts, to life, to nature, and to GOD, in exchange for mentally masturbating over pages in an old book, living in shame and paranoia, and suppressing everything that is good and different.

¡Que Lástima!

Call it dancing with the devil if you want. I call it resurrecting the authentic human heart that was lost over the years of painful colonization of the minds, bodies, lands, and souls of the innocent and the WISE.

This is not an attack on organized religion. This is a spotlight on the harmful ways that some folks continue to use their religion to persecute minorities. Spiritual minorities and other delightful minorities

Our uniqueness and diversity is our gift.

That said, I’m gonna keep dancing until my last breathe. And I’ll keep inviting others to join me all over the dang world.

There’s simply too much at stake not to.
