We all ride this roller coaster of life knowing it’s not a guarantee how long the ride will last. The future doesn’t come with a time and date stamp.

When my husband and I were in our younger years, his father always said to him something that I’ve never forgotten.

“A split-second decision can change your entire life.”

Of course, I knew the meaning of this saying. We make choices every day. Our choices come with consequences. This couldn’t have become more clear for me though, until the day I had to look at life through the rearview mirror. For a girl with 20/20 vision, life became so incredibly blurry.

On April 30, 2018. I received the most torturing news ever. My brother was gone.

IN ONE SPLIT SECOND, he was gone forever. IN ONE SPLIT SECOND, his decision ended his life. IN ONE SPLIT SECOND, this decision changed my life, my families life, our entire lives as we knew it.

The pain in his heart and mind had ended.

For ME, for my family, it had just begun.
