Chicken Chow Mein – Classic Chinese Dish

Chicken Chow Mein – This chicken chow mein recipe is made with thin soft noodles like Panda Express stir-fried with vegetables that can be made in just 20 minutes.

What is Chow Mein?

Chow mein is a classic Chinese dish made with fried egg noodles, meat (usually chicken), onions, celery and soy sauce is always present.

People generally like to make it with more vegetables like broccoli, peppers, carrots, onion or ginger, the more you will add the better it tastes.

Difference between Chow Mein and Lo Mein

But don’t be mistaken guys! Chow mein is always made with noodles that are cooked first and then fried before other meats and vegetables are added to the noodles whereas the lo mein is not fried first, and is added at the end of the stir-frying process of vegetables and meats. This makes the chicken lo mein more flavorful because you will not get that fried flavor of spices and seasonings whereas in chicken chow mein you will get that fried soy sauce flavor at the end.
