Christian hip-hop artist Hostyle Gospel is one of the biggest voices in the Christian music world today. Formed in 2003, the group has worked with superstars like John Givez, Gemstones, Da T.r.u.t.h, Flame, Dr. Bobby Jones and more. Their new single “The One” is schedule to be released this fall and is promise to be another hot track for the group. Hostyle Gospel’s sound is for those who wants change in their life and who aren’t scared to get a little crazy while worshiping the Lord. They believe that relationship between Christians and Jesus shouldn’t just be on displayed on Sunday in front of the congregation at church, but should be displayed everyday in their daily lives so the world can see the Lord’s glory.

Your boy caught up with Hostyle Gospel to discuss how life has been going for the group and what makes Hostyle Gospel love by so many people.

How would you describe your music?

Fun, holy and sometimes crazy.

What do you like the most about being a musician?

The freedom to create.

How do Hostyle Gospel select their beats?

When it’s time to make some new music, we ask producers to send us beats that we can rap on. After listening to every beat, we all sat down and decide on what works for what we are trying to convey on our project.

Who is the lead rapper of the group?

All of us.

What musical awards have you aspired to receive?

None. We don’t make music to receive awards, we make music to please the Lord.

What’s your opinion about artists the rap about God being label Christian Rappers?

I think that is a tricky topic to dissect. On one hand, people may look at the definition of a Christian Rapper as someone who raps about Jesus or anything that relates to the bible. And on the other hand people may identify themselves as a rapper who happened to be a Christian. I guess this gives them freedom to have put anything and anybody on their music tracks without being handcuff by Christian rappers label on their names. They also can talk about other topics or choose to work with other business propositions that might have been frowned upon if they had Christian rapper attached to their profile. Yo, but everyone in Hostyle Gospel consider themselves as Christian Rappers because the only thing we do is rap about is the Lord, but to each is to own.

Doing a concert for a King or President.
