Is it better to love or be loved? When we are in love it isn’t so easy to be loved equally in return, usually one person loves more or less than the other. In the beginning it may seem as though it is equal, but that usually changes.
When someone loves me, it is good for me because they are blessing me and have good will towards me, and they will do things for me, but they have the loving feeling and I don’t. It is better if we both have the loving feeling for one another but if that is not the case, it is better to have that loving feeling. I believe that we all can have that loving feeling toward God, or life, or the universe. That loving feeling can be an independent thing, not loving any particular object. There are synonyms for that independent loving feeling. The Buddhists call it nirvana. The Yogis and Vedantists call it samadhi or moksha (independent freedom). The Christians call it the Kingdom of God. Anyone of us can live permanently in this loving feeling. Anyone of us can cultivate this loving feeling.
How does one cultivate this loving feeling? “Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be opened” Mathews 77. BELIEVE! “Fear not, little flock; for it is Gods good pleasure to give you the kingdom (that loving feeling)” Luke 12:32. I believe that one must have a daily prayer/ meditation practice, specifically seeking this. In our daily activities, be mindful of our thoughts. There are some people or things which we don’t have loving feelings about. We should be mindful of this and adjust our thoughts accordingly.
I believe this. I can testify to this. I have been praying for this and do still pray for this, and have been having some success.
