THE ONLY 3 REASONS YOU ARE EVER OVEREATING (PART 2/3)

THE ONLY 3 REASONS YOU ARE EVER OVEREATING

(PART 2/3)

In this series, I’m sharing with you the ONLY 3 REASONS you are ever ever overeating.

With this clarity, you’ll be able to pinpoint and know EXACTLY why you have been overeating.

You’ll then be able to move forward with RELIEF, knowing you ain’t crazy, and knowing exactly what to do to stop overeating.

YAHOO !!!

So here’s the deal, the ONLY 3 REASONS WHY YOU ARE EVER OVEREATING:

1. You’re not EATING enough

2. You’re not FEELING enough

3. You’re not PRESENT enough

Most of the time, the reason why you are overeating is a combination of the 3.

In part 1, I explained in more detail the first reason, “You’re Not Eating Enough”, to read this (and I highly suggest you do), go here.

In Part 2, right now, we are going to delve deep into the second reason you may be overeating, which is…

***drum roll please*** – YOU’RE NOT FEELING ENOUGH.

Now, maybe you are thinking to yourself,

“Oh, I don’t have this problem of not feeling enough, I feel WAY TOO MUCH. I can’t stop feeling.

I’m OVERWHELMED with feeling.

So this doesn’t relate to me.”

Now hold up, let me explain what I mean by not feeling enough, because it most definitely applies to you if you think you feel “too much”.

This is really important so hear this:

JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE FEELING AN EMOTION THE WHOLE DAY, DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE FEELING TOO MUCH OF IT.

Let me explain.

Emotions are messengers.

They are a call to action in order to get our needs met.

So they’re not supposed to last very long – a few seconds to minutes at best, long enough for you to hear the message and take action on what that message is telling you.

So if you find yourself feeling anxious or angry or sad most of the day, this is a red flag telling you that you are not FULLY FEELING this emotion in its entirety.

What this means is you are not going deep enough into the feeling to hear the message it is trying to gift you, hearing the call to action it is trying to get you to take, in order to transmute and process it.

Instead, this emotion is staying stuck within you, waiting to be heard and its message waiting to be received.

Now, the fact that you think you feel “too much” is a judgement against a particular emotion.

What is too much?

Who says what is too much?

Too much compared to who or what?

If I were to ask you if you can feel too much happiness, your answer would most likely be no, right?

You wouldn’t say to yourself,

“OH MY GOSH, I’M FEELING WAY TOO HAPPY RIGHT NOW. MAKE IT STOP PLEASE, MAKE IT STOP”

No, right?

Chances are there are specific emotions that you are in judgement of that feel “too much”, or overwhelming, because of the messages you have received about these emotions growing up.

A few emotions we generally hold judgement around are: anxiety, sadness, anger, guilt.

These will be the emotions you may be aware of feeling right before you turn to the family size bag of doritos in the cupboard at the end of the day.

These feelings feel uncomfortable and foreign,

so we turn to food in order to distract us in hopes that these feelings will go away.

Now, sometimes we push away these emotions we hold in judgement so many times and for so long, that our brains subconsciously push these emotions down for us without us needing to do anything to push them down.

Our brains recognize, “OK, she’s pushed this emotion down so many times, let me just push it down for her so she doesn’t need to deal with it”.

When our subconscious does this, we won’t even be aware of what we are feeling at any given time, because it doesn’t come up to our conscious awareness.

This is called REPRESSION of our emotions… when we don’t even know we are having particular emotions or feelings.

This is another element of “not feeling enough”:

We have lost connection with the radio station of our emotions so much so that we don’t even realise we are having any emotions, all we know is we are turning to food and we have no idea why.

Can you relate to this?

Chances are if you don’t know what you’re feeling during the day, and you just have a general feeling of “numbness”, this a sign that you are no longer in tune with the radio station of your emotions after pushing them down for so long… so you can’t hear the message and call to action from these emotions and thus you stay stuck in this binge cycle.

So there are two elements of “not feeling enough”,

either you’re feeling NUMB throughout the day, unaware of what your feelings are, OR you’re feeling all the feelings throughout the day, overwhelmed with emotion, while not fully working through and processing what comes up for you.

You may even experience a combination of both in your day/life = periods of numbness and periods of overwhelm of emotion.

Both are a reflection of you not feeling enough.

So, summing up, “not feeling enough” is the second major reason as to why you may be overeating.

Until you start learning to fully feel and be with your emotions without judgement, getting to the core of what action that emotion is trying to get you to take, you will continue to stay stuck in this overeating cycle.

It’s super important that you start learning the tools to be with your emotions without needing to run away from them or distract yourself from them.

These tools are pivotal to your success in overcoming overeating.

Stay tuned for Part 3, “You’re Not Present Enough”.
