“How then does light return to the world after the eclipse of the sun? Miraculously. Frailly. In thin stripes. It hangs like a glass cage. It is a hoop to be fractured by a tiny jar. There is a spark there. Next moment a flush of dun. Then a vapour as if earth were breathing in and out, once, twice, for the first time. Then under the dullness someone walks with a green light. Then off twists a white wraith. The woods throb blue and green, and gradually the fields drink in red, gold, brown. Suddenly a river snatches a blue light. The earth absorbs colour like a sponge slowly drinking water. It puts on weight; rounds itself; hangs pendent; settles and swings beneath our feet.”
Virginia Woolf, The Waves
The Moon is void-of-course until 1:45 PM PST this afternoon. Once in Capricorn, the Moon squares Chiron and trines Uranus before this evening’s New Moon (9:12 PM PST 4° Capricorn), which is within a degree of the conjunction with Jupiter. The new Lunar Cycle provides space for the wisdom of Jupiter in Capricorn to be unveiled. The last two weeks of negotiations have actually been centered on concerns over conformity and appearance. Under this New Moon, negotiations come to an end. Going forward, we are quite likely to experience increasing confidence. Nonetheless, it is important to remember that, as Jupiter approaches the South Node, we may find that any ongoing attempts to please others at the expense of our own integrity will severely weaken our position and confidence.
Overnight, the Sagittarius moon conjoins Mercury and goes void-of-course, bringing profound insights. A vision is crystallizing, revealing the road ahead. Pay attention to your dreams this morning. If you can, wake up early to sit in silence and meditate.
We’re moving through the dark of the moon now, and the moon enters Capricorn this afternoon, heading to the Capricorn new moon and annular solar eclipse. Eclipses occur every six months, bringing a progression of events, seeding events for at least the next six months, oftentimes longer.
During eclipses, time seems to accelerate. As the sun’s disk is wiped clean and reemerges from the shadow, so, too, there is a similar process in effect with our consciousness. It would be helpful to look back to what was unfolding six months ago as the last eclipses aligned. Think back to 18 years ago. What have you learned? How far have you come? How have you grown?
For the duration of the eclipse, it is best to lay low and not engage in too much activity. This time is best used for meditation and spiritual practices. The sun is the primary source of life on our planet.
Life is changing form and shape, and you’re setting patterns that will carry you over at least the next six months. Embody your lessons as you move forward and sow your seeds wisely.
