Five 2020 Destinations to Reconnect with Nature and Yourself

The way we live today has become very much detached from nature. As we are part of nature, no wonder why we feel something is missing in our modern lives. It’s the need to be surrounded by greenery, fresh air, spectacular mountains, water and sounds of birds chirping.

If you feel like it would do you enormous good to get in touch with nature and your inner self again, it’s best if you choose a destination that will amaze you and offer you some breathtaking scenery where you can silently reflect.

Benefits of nature for modern people

Now more than ever, a modern man has to find his way back to nature. The amount and type of stress we are exposed to now is something that our predecessors didn’t experience. The technological development also brings problems, not just the good things. We are constantly available to everybody, we are finding it hard to disconnect, and we are in a never-ending rush to do more in a shorter period.

Going to a forest, in the mountains or near water puts us in a place of peaceful solitude. Natural sounds and calming colors around us ease our minds, remove the noise inside our heads and help us find our inner balance again.

Our minds “reboot”, helping us find the joy in life again, to find inspiration, creativity, and motivation to enjoy the little things. Mental health is equally, if not more, important as our physical health. It’s all intertwined. It’s hard to live a spiritual life if your mind is polluted with daily obligations, stress, and urban madness. Going back to your roots, trees, water, grass, and the soil is the way to find yourself again, yourself which somehow got lost in the buzz of the modern civilization.

1.Magical Bali

If you want to go on a journey that will change your life, go to this Indonesian island. Ubud is the spiritual center of the island, while Kuta is crowded with tourists, and Canggu is the best surfer spot. It’s best if you rent a scooter and go on your private exploration of the island, enjoying the lush greenery, the rice terraces, and breathtaking sunsets. There are even several yoga centers in urban areas, where you can try to reach your inner peace and self-love with the help of a guide.  Wherever you go, you will feel the power of the Balinese faith because every home is a little temple. People in Bali are incredibly nice and helpful, and they will definitely put a smile on your face, showing you that it’s possible to be perfectly happy without owning too many things.

2. Let go of all the worries in the Alps

Renting a lonely hut somewhere in the Alps could be all you need to find the balance in your life again. Surrounded by nothing but the mountains and trees, this solitude will allow you to reach deep inside your inner being and feel you are the one with nature. Hiking or just a few relaxing walks early in the morning will help you put things into perspective. Having a picnic on a wonderful spot or stepping into an ice-cold stream will introduce you to the little joys again. You will have quality sleep again and find time to read somewhere in the open, without any distractions.

The fun alternative is to go all adventurous and try crossing of the Alps, with all that accompanies it – sleeping in the tent, exploring the wilderness, testing your limits.

3.Australian wonders in Tasmania

Australia offers a unique natural world, one that can’t be seen anywhere else on the planet. It’s a perfect country to visit if you want to see just how diverse our planet is and how numerous are the natural wonders of the world. Tasmania may be the best Australian region to show you that.  The simplest and also the most fun way to get to know the Tasmanian wilderness is to organize a self drive in Tasmania, which will allow you to visit the most stunning spots and places it has to offer. The East Coast is the home of stunning Wineglass Bay and Bay of Fires, offering comfortable solace and the opportunity to experience natural beauties in all of their glory. On the other side, the north-western part will show off with the Cradle Mountain and its rich wilderness world waiting to be discovered by you. Following the smaller roads, away from the main motorway, you will get to discover Tasmania and re-discover yourself.

4.Tibet, Mt.Kailash

In case your main goal is to enrich your spirit and to go on a spiritual journey, then a trek to Mt Kailash in Tibet could be your best option. High up, where the sky and the Earth are connecting, you will have to make your way through remarkable plateaus, past the monasteries, meeting nomads and exploring meditation caves. The never-ending grassland will soothe your eyes and your soul. Buddhist traditions are deeply intertwined with nature, so no wonder why one cannot go without the other and why Tibet may be the perfect place to find your inner peace.

5.Norway, North Cape

Norway is a wonderful country, with harsh winters but warm people, and miles and miles of unspoiled nature. Its scenery is one of a kind and the more you go into the far north, the more amazed you’ll get. Plateau called North Cape is, in some sense, the edge of the world. When you get to the spot called “The Top of the World”, standing at the very edge of the plateau, you will enjoy the scenery in front of you – the Arctic Ocean meeting the sky, the midnight sun shining low light, and the magical northern lights (if you’re lucky enough).

Final words

Reconnecting with yourself is best when done in nature, away from the urban areas and crowds. Nature is where we came from and where our true home is. Allow yourself to become one with it again.
