Mindfulness is the ultimate act of kindness, to ourselves and to the Earth. Each act of being has the highest intention. We become considerate of everything: our thoughts, our environment, and other people.
When we are mindful, we do not rush. We walk with gentle steps. We become aware of each muscle and bone that lifts our feet off of the ground to propel us on our path.
We become aware of the Life Force within us.
The conscious breath fuels mindful being. Mindful breathing allows us to fully remain in the moment. This allows us to fully commit to everything in front of us. This can be our work, walking, eating, driving, talking with a friend, reading a book, and so much more.
When we practice mindfulness, we begin to love the Earth, not fear it. We feel connected to our environment, whether it is filled with a million people or a million trees. We feel the energy of creation within us and around us.
We cannot pass a stranger without a smile, for a smile goes a long way. A smile is healing for us and for a stranger. It shows the stranger that someone on this Earth cares about them, and that they are loved. We are aware that maybe this stranger may have had a bad day, and that our smile can help them.
We begin to let go of fear and doubts when we are mindful. I was scared on this journey by living in my car in a new state, very far away from friends and family. Yet, I am one with the strangers I speak to, the Earth I stand on and the air I breathe. I remember that I am here. I become aware of the fear, and I send love to the fear.
True mindfulness is to recognize the beauty in every moment. We recognize the greatness in a good day and a bad day. We recognize the lessons given to us to help us grow. Through this awareness, we become active, not reactive. The journey of life becomes an adventure.
