A close friend of mine was sharing her frustration around the lack of presence from a recent lover. He was good looking, charming, even ‘spiritual’ and said all the right things. OMGoddess! It was a full yes. Yet, once he entered her he just ‘switched off’. It turned out that the beginning of her journey was his destination. End of the line. Mission accomplished. Generally there are 2 types of lovers (this goes for both men and women) and unless we are fully self realized and transcended our pain body…we will most likely operate from one or the other to some extent.

A) Narcissistic Lover: it’s all about his pleasure. Takers mentality. Predator.
B) Co-dependent Lover: it’s all about her pleasure. Givers mentality. Victim.

Both are coping mechanisms for an imbalance. The pain of feeling incomplete, fractured and powerless. So why did he ‘switch off’? Because a woman can undress a man’s soul just like he undressed her body. Uncovering his old wounds, the pain behind his desire for pleasure. In defense to this revelation, he has to fulfill his desire ASAP. Either through gratification (a) or indirectly through validation (b).

*Yes..that means “honoring the Goddess” might just be another people pleasing coping mechanism. I know this coz that was me!
