For a while the sun may be obscure behind the clouds
But that does not diminish its glory
Or take away its power
It just means that for a while
It has had to hide itself
Only to be revealed at another time
When the earth will be ready and waiting
To receive its light and strength.
Darkness prepares us to receive light
Pain prepares us to receive healing
For anything worth having
The realisation that it could be gone forever
Should be so great that it enables us to hold on
To pray, as we cannot fathom
The vastness of the mysteries of this universe
