Celebrating 33, Feeling 22

On the beautiful day of 22.2.2020, my bestie has celebrated 33 winters of existence.

Being an incredible magnet to others, she put together on this festive evening a bunch of incredible single ladies in their thirties. It was a gathering that has led me to a realization of the many things that bind us together, as strong, smart, beautiful women.

We unite our forces and celebrate independence,
in the shadow of grouchiness expressed with humor,
and freedom infused with loneliness.

As Taylor said – “It’s miserable and magical, oh yeah”

Young at heart, not yet ready to grow,
Feeling like fairies in a troubled world.
Fragile,
however, with our strong wings, we’re always prepared to fly.

We share our bed with a dog or a cat,
One, or maybe several.
And though we hold much appreciation for any such awakening,
we do long for one particular soul to join the team.

All the while, we try,
to flow softly along with the movement of the universe,
And to be authentic,
As we never dared to be.
More confident and less apologetic,
Proudly,
we wear our pain.
With cracks in our hearts – the mends are what give them their uniqueness.

Over long periods of heartache, we’ve learned that
self-love
will pave the way for the love of another.

And so we choose to simply
Love.
