How dangerous is the Coronavirus compared to the common flu? This is a question that many common individuals have been longing to know the answers too. One might think that the Coronavirus, also known as NCOV-2019 has killed than the flu, however one might be wrong.
Within the United States alone, this years annual flu has resulted in over 16,000 fatalities, while the Coronavirus has only resulted in 14 deaths within U.S. borders. According to a news interview from Fox News, a surgeon general states that the normal person will not have to worry about the virus. I believe that this surgeon general has been influenced by the large numbers of flu fatalities, blowing the dangers of the Coronavirus out of scale.
However, even wit high numbers of annual flu deaths, the 2019 Coronavirus is still a catastrophic/dangerous virus if caught. Furthermore, it can be assured that the symptoms of Coronavirus are far more serious than the flu. Many claim that we have passed the threshold in which we can stop the Coronavirus from becoming a worldwide pandemic. Furthermore, the lack of proper testing kits and no solution to the virus has encouraged it to spread more internally throughout the United States. For example, information from the website called Coronavirus Case Location Map, an online map where NCOV-2019 cases are marked with circles and markers, there have been an influx of cases in large metropolitan areas like Seattle, New York, Chicago, Nebraska, and the Bay Area.
Fortunately, with the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) ramping up development of test kits and its increase determination of combatting the virus, most Americans can rest assure that the government is doing all it can to help contain the spread of Coronavirus 2019.
