So it finally sinks in during this one quiet moment…You set your breakfast aside, turn your camera phone on to capture the moment and let your body be pulled towards the backyard garden gate leading to a heart-stopping view of this morning’s life-affirming and most definitely life-giving sun. It dawns on you now, everything your favorite writers, musicians, teachers, coaches, leaders and other wise people you’ve been following have been trying to tell you all along:

“You are the Light and Love you have been searching for your whole life. Nothing and no one outside of you that you have to chase around (love, acceptance, respect, approval & admiration from family, friends, lovers & colleagues; a career, a lifestyle, a reputation, knowledge, feelings, travels, books, films, food and all forms of highs & pleasures) can ever give to or take away from you Light and Love because you already are Light and Love.”

Then you laugh to yourself at the beauty and incongruity of this awakening. Your clarity just had to arrive in the midst of all your chaos: right smack in the interminable middle of a pandemic; during major shifts at work that give no measure of job security; as you reconcile your yearning to be creative with the need to be a responsible adult; with unhealed issues with family members finally coming to a head; while looking for a new home, community & hometown because your current ones just don’t quite cut it anymore and right at the time that you’re getting to know deep down in your bones that just because they taught you and continue to make you feel you’re unlovable doesn’t mean you’ll remain unloved for the rest of your life.

This is how it had to happen. This is the answer to the question you’ve been asking the Universe your whole blessed and messy life. So you take a deep breath, sink in to the Light and Love you already are and whisper:

“Thank you, Universe. I’ll take this and run with it.”
