How to prepare for the arrival of a new baby?

Nine months is a long wait, but you can use this time as an advantage to prepare for your baby’s arrival. Let’s see how you can better organize and prepare yourself for the arrival of a cute little one.

Talk to your doctor

To help you plan, you must first talk to your doctor about labor and delivery. Ask questions such as what emergency signs to look out for, how to identify labor pain, when you need to go to the hospital, what will be your role in the C-section case, etc.

Prepare yourself mentally

It is natural for expectant mothers to be nervous about labor and delivery, especially when this is the first time. You need to calm your nerves and not let anxiety turn into fear. It’s better to prepare mentally for a previous birth. Talk with your partner, friend, or doctor to get rid of thoughts that are bothering you. You can also take tips from veteran mothers, but remember to only take quality advice – you don’t want to scare yourself by listening to painful birth stories.

Prepare your older children

If you have older children, spend quality time during the waiting period and prepare them for their new siblings. By bonding with them, you will create a feeling of security and assurance to them that they will not be moved. Also, arrange for the care of your older child when you will be at the birth center.

Prepare your baby’s clothes

Newborn skin is very soft and smooth. You need to make sure that the clothes you buy for your newborn baby do not cause rashes or irritation to the skin. Therefore, it is a good idea to wash baby clothes, towels and blankets in disinfectants and make them ready for use.

Pack your hospital bag!

Pack your hospital bag a few weeks before, according to the length of your stay in the hospital. You will need a hospital gown and sanitary napkin for yourself while there are enough clothes and diapers for your baby. Don’t forget your personal belongings besides the important ones.

Inventories in the household must be owned

Stock your kitchen and fridge with all the must-have. In addition to kitchen staples, shop for other basic necessities such as toiletries and medicines beforehand so that you don’t need to go to the store a few weeks after birth.

Prepare your home for your baby

Prove your home first. Prepare a cradle. If you plan to sleep together in your bed, get a bed sheet and a waterproof mattress cover. You will also need milk bottles, bibs, pillows, blankets, towels, diapers, diapers, and toiletries for your baby.

Shopping for maternity clothes

After you have gathered everything for the comfort of your baby, you need to take the time to prepare your clothes too. Shop for some postpartum clothes such as breastfeeding dresses, breastfeeding clothes, nightgowns, nursing bras, casual pants Search Articles, and other loose clothing that helps you take care of comfortably. Don’t forget to add maternity pads to your checklist.
