Where are you headed, my friend?
Life is happening here and now.
I thought I was meant to be there,
Up and above
In a position there.
But where was that place?
Was it even real?
It was as vivid as it is in my dream.
I figured it was an illusion,
Stemming from my long list of “wants.”
How about you, my friend?
Life is happening here and now.
Missed the timeline, missed the bus, or missed an appointment?
But never missed a breath.
Have we?
Chasing the things which are not here.
Missing the fullness of the breath which is happening now.
So, why do we think we are not going anywhere?
Why are you chasing it, my friend?
Life is happening here and now.
The skin which is on my body has also changed.
So has yours.
The organs have changed and so have yours.
The flow of “impermanence” is pervasive.
Being the only constant, really.
The breath is the vehicle from moment to moment.
So, where are you headed, my friend?
Life is happening here and now.
And as we start paying attention to the present moment,
We witness the speed of the thoughts in our heads.
We experience the vibrations and sensations in our corporeal realm.
We witness the fullness of life.
We catch the illusions one by one,
And gently watch them take another shape and form.
So, why do we need to be at someplace else?
This moment and the next will take us to where we are meant to be.
So, where are you headed, my friend?
Life is happening here and now.
Let us give ourselves some love, some time, some slack.
Let us watch our breath, the thoughts, and the actions.
Let us catch our illusions and understand their origin.
Let us watch ourselves closely—as if we are scientists,
Making observations, curious to know—what next?
And see what happens then.
Haven’t we been simply existing, missing the joy of everyday living,
The gratitude of being alive?
And what happened?
Still we want to be somewhere else.
So, where are you headed, my friend?
Life is happening here and now.
