An invisible string wrapped around my waist one day.
The other end stretched away.
I couldn’t see where it went. I tugged. It went tight, so I followed along. I was led by my navel. Nothing felt wrong.
I then reached a mirror where I saw my reflection. And as I looked into my eyes, I could read more direction.
They invited me in, so I reached out to touch. My hand went through the mirror. The string tightened too much!
It then pulled me through. I was inside this mirror. All was made out of light. My eyes squinted to see clearer.
The string tugged again, like it was a map. I walked up some stairs. There sat a gift to unwrap.
I picked it up—my curiosity sat upright. This gift appeared empty. It was a box full of more light.
My brain was confused. My heart giggled a bit. “Silly brain,” it said. “First, you must commit!”
“Commit to what?” My brain wanted to know.
My heart took a deep breath and said, “It’s time to let go.”
“But those are opposites!” my brain insisted. “It doesn’t make sense! Commitment and letting go are two sides of a fence!”
“No, no.” My heart was gentle. “You must commit to letting go. You are only one human with an isolated ego. To let go puts you higher. You become part of it all. It is then your gift’s message will fully install.”
At that, the mirror shattered. I was again standing outside. The string, I couldn’t see, but I could feel it inside.
I took a deep breath. I looked up at the sky. I was ready for this and I now knew my why.
