I’m still trying to figure it out.
Was I absent that day at school? You know that day where they taught us about all the curveballs life was going to throw our way? The day they taught us how to move forward after losing a parent….after losing a marriage.
The day they handed out packets on living after being diagnosed with a progressive and possibly terminal condition. That day they gave us the skills to carry on in the event our worlds were turned upside down and shaken good and hard.
I had to be absent.
I had to be absent because I was not prepared for the hell I’ve recently been through. I don’t like not being prepared. I don’t look good when I’m unprepared.
Did anyone take notes on that day? I’d sure like a copy.
