Being human in today’s society is a scary thing. We are constantly being examined for usefulness, worthiness and status. Trying to branch out into a different way of looking at life is one of the most important things we as humans can do in these times. We need to open our horizons to other possible ways of life and try to break through the mould of these societal norms. I believe this to be vital in keeping our souls pure.
For the past year of my life, I have began questioning everything, everything I had taken for granted to just be how the world is. The idea that until we are in high paying, high status jobs our lives lack value, or until we start a family or a business we are useless. If you are here, living, breathing you are worthy.
During the lockdown months I had time to be introspective and it awakened me. The stillness. Corporate was at a standstill, basic human survival was the message that echoed through or lives. Hobbies I had forgotten about became priority and I engaged in these soulfully, my ego was quiet. I had time to write from my heart. The title photo is a poem I wrote during lockdown.
The message of this article is to encourage people to do things from their soul. The busyness of the mind can be detrimental to our health. Your worthiness is not determined by anything outside of yourself.
