“Guess what day it is?”
The trumpets blasted right as my son slid into the room. An instant dance party erupted.
A smile and a sly “Awwwe, yeeeah” slipped out from my lips.
Staring at screens and sitting on our duffs all day is a buzz kill. Remote schooling and work skip the fun parts of both. We miss it.
Our so-called social media break led to heavy conversations of the global pandemic, heated political climate, and Mother Nature’s own earth, wind, and fire revenge tour.
We needed a lift and the song “September” brought it—the perfect shift.
Wanna pause life and dance with us? No matter the day, feel like dialing that mood up a notch?
If the best move ya got is snappin’ those fingers on the off-beat with an over-bite, we love it. Seriously.
“Right now,
I just need you to get real loose,
Get comfortable,
Grab your loved ones or grab your love, partner,
And if you’re by yourself, no worries,
Just follow after me…”
Once that heart’s thumping, invite someone else onto our imaginary dance floor. What better time than the present to be one? Give the gift of a dance. Be serious or silly like a chicken, and…
“…remember, the true love we share today.
Hey, hey, hey!
Ba-dee-ya, say, do you remember?
Ba-dee-ya, dancin’ in September,
Ba-dee-ya,…”

Dedicated to my far-away loves who I miss twirling and the one who wooed me when he asked me to dance.
