Hello, Depression. {Poem}

Hello depression, we meet again.

I’m surprised this time,

That I saw you come in.

I got myself up to twirl around.

But you tied me up when I sat down.

Accepting your presence,

I sit and wait,

Silent reflections of my fate.

Cut them out,

They don’t belong.”

You know, this time,

I don’t think you’re wrong.

I guess I’ll stay here,

Just you and me.

Awaiting the day

That you set me free.

How will I emerge?

Will I be able to see

The beauty that is awaiting me?

Is that you, I hear?

Telling me my time’s end is near?

How far will I fall?

Will anyone hear my call?

I’m going to stay still,

So listen to me breathe.

Breathing in faith

That you’ll soon leave.

~
