The Interview

Last week felt like post -9/11 with the US election and feelings of unrest .

I felt this and I’m America’s cousin .

The world watched and waited holding on .

During all of the events this past year we are all in patterns of holding.

Waiting for healing.

The life events and trauma have been re- triggered for many. The collective trauma of loss.

Today is Remembrance Day. I wake early and write and pray offering gratitudes between playing fetch.

We are still here ! Hold on !

The following poem was written last night over a cup of tea and a long intimate conversation with a special guest.

The interview was long awaited.

It left me feeling hopeful and light again even with everything going on in the world.

I hope you feel the same. Peace my friends

I interviewed Empathy.

She arrived early.

The conversation was warm.

I felt heard.

Tenderness  was felt.

She  opened up and although we did not share the same beliefs she saw my perspective and offered hers

Empathy was kind , considerate and compassionate.

Empathy with strength and conviction took a stand expressing what was needed

Like a noble she sat with poise and grandeur for empathy was filled with grace

She stayed the course.

After she left the embers of light remained for she lit a fire in my heart and this is the truth that remains

Empathy introduced me to my own sweet heart and I in turn was kind.

So begins a new day !

Signed lovingly,

The Journalist of Life
