As some of you know I had unexpected root canal the week of Christmas. The pain knocked me for a loop. I felt useless, hopeless, couldn’t think straight, and any medical directions I had, I had to write down because the pain wasn’t allowing me to concentrate. The pain made me vulnerable and opened me up so much to realize the depth of what we are all experiencing. Also realizing that I was unknowingly around a friend who has a family member that had Covid, and how important it was for my friend to share this information with me, so I could get tested, cancel all of my appointments until I got results back, and make sure I did not infect anyone, in case I tested positive, which I didn’t, thank goodness. But this is how we are all connected and have to take care of one another as frightening as all of this is. It’s also interesting to see how we can be so sensitive and defensive now, when before Covid, anything someone would say would roll off our back. I have to double check myself, before I respond, when someone says something insensitive to me, knowing, in better times, they might not even say what they did, or it could truly be a funny joke, but not now. Many of us feel like we are without skin, that’s how sensitive we feel.
My vulnerability opened me up to how many people have died in our country and all over the world is beyond my comprehension, but not beyond my feeling. It’s overwhelming to realize how many lives the pandemic has taken, and this disease doesn’t care if you are rich, poor,, homeless, black, white or whatever. But, I do know that when the rich get stricken with this disease their money opens doors to medicine that isn’t open to many of us. To be honest, if I was very rich, and the pandemic hit my family, friends, or myself, I don’t know what I would do.
I just feel the incredible loss of so many humans, and the stupidity of many leaders in our country and throughout the world who just care about $, and their personal outcome, and don’t give a shit about helping people out to get rid of this horrendous virus.
People without food, jobs, healthcare, a place to live. It’s all so heartbreaking.
I SHALL NEVER FORGET THIS TIME IN OUR WORLD! IT’S A TIME FOR TRANSFORMATION, STAYING AWAKE AND REALIZING WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER.
