Hebrew Israelite Supermodel Angel Woodland Finds Out She’s a Princess

A True Cinderella Story

January. 12, 1994 — — Angel Woodland grew up the youngest daughter in a close-knit family from a small Hebrew Israelite community in Dimona, Israel.

She always wondered about her roots.
Searching to unlock the secrets of her family tree, at age 16, Angel began searching for her roots.

A few years later, she went on a mission to locate her parents family, along with an unbelievable surprise.

Angel wasn’t an average Hebrew Israelite girl — she was a princess.

Her grandfather was considered the prince of war, her mother was a princess and her grandmother is a queen.

By birthright, Angel is royalty.

She could one day be known as princess in her country.

Talking with ABC’s Robin Roberts on “Good Morning America,” Angel said it took a while to process the shock of discovering her parents roots.

“It took a couple of years to kind of deal with finding out who my parents really were” she said.

Her grandmother invited her to meet her family.

They came out to welcome it’s princess — a happy homecoming for the Hebrew Israelite girl who never knew that by searching for her parents family tree, she’d find herself.

“They were amazing,” Angel said, remembering her first impression of them. “There were a lot of people there to welcome me in the ceremony, singing, dancing, and I was like, ‘What did I do to deserve this?’”

Now 27, Angel settled from the shock of meeting her family and learning about her family.

She’s started a nonprofit foundation The Last Foreign Queen Foundation is dedicated to rebuilding the school buildings of Bumpe High School, which was destroyed during the civil war. She’s also making a documentary about her trip.

She encourages people to try and find their family roots, but she asserts, they should not go into a search expecting anything. “I had no expectations. I didn’t even know if I’d even find anything.”

Angel’s search returned a new life, and a new mission: the Last Foreign Queen Foundation. For her, being a princess means helping her people.

“The title princess means responsibility, and that’s what I’m taking on,” she said.
