ROOT CHAKRA – MULADHARA – FULL DETAILS ARTICLE

Muladhara literally means, Mula is Root and Adhara means Base, Foundation, Substructure, Bottom and Grounded. Hence, Muladhara simply means the Bottom Chakra in Human Body or Root Chakra. Mula or Mool also means Stupid or Foolish in Sanskrit.

A stupid is someone who has a lack of intelligence, so, more than 95% of people are stupid in this world because they die when their energy is near Muladhara. People are intelligent of course in technology and other things but that is not our ultimate goal of life. Our aim is Moksha means Liberation from Death and Birth and Long Lasting Peace.

WHERE IS THE ROOT CHAKRA LOCATED IN BODY?

According to Human Anatomy, Muladhara is located near the coccygeal plexus beneath the sacrum, or superficial activation point, is located between the perineum and the coccyx or the pelvic bone. Now you may be thinking that if it is bottom or root Chakra, why is it not positioned on foot?

The answer is very simple, our body is important from head to the end of the spinal cord and around some distance. The rest of the parts of body are necessary but we can live without them. Even painfully but a human can live without legs or hands but can not live without a heart or throat. So that’s why the Root Chakra is positioned at the last of the spinal cord.

WHAT IS THE COLOR AND MANTRA OF MULADHARA?

The Muladhara is symbolized by a lotus with four petals and the colour red. The yogis who actually activate the Muladhara may see some different patterns of colors but overall it is the red or red gradients mix with orange. Each Chakra in body has a strong connection with White color so while Meditating on Muladhara a Yogi can see the White color on the background of red on Muladhara.

The seed mantra (Beej mantra) syllable is लं (lam). लं (Sanskrit) (Lam) dedicates to “Lambodar”, which means Lamb – Long, Udar – Stomach. Lambodar is Lord Ganesha who has a big and long stomach as his favorite food is sweets. Because the Muladhara is 1st Chakra of Human Body so Lord Ganesha is always worshipped 1st in starting of doing something. So a Yogi always pray to Ganesha that bless me and give me more energy and patience because I am starting the Chakra Meditation.

WHY DOES MULADHARA BE SO IMPORTANT TO AWAKENING AND BALANCE?

First, we have to understand that awakening is the activation of energy, balancing is making it stable and imbalancing is losing the energy. In the awakening process, the Kundalini energy goes to the upside, in Balancing it is being controlled and stable and the imbalancing is losing it by some desires such as sexual desires.
Muladhara is 1st Chakra, and for example, you have to run in the morning for exercise, the most important is waking up and stepping out of home, once you do it, you starting running. Same once you awaken or balance the Muladhara, there is a strong chance that you will succeed to awaken other Chakras.

Many people think that Muladhara is a lower chakra so it is not important to awaken. That is the biggest mistake, as a house can not be made successfully without its solid foundation, same if you ignore the significance of Muladhara, you can be misled by the mind.
