How To Get Rid Of Paper Clutter Through Organizing Challenge Week

Overusing your new standing desk but wished it didn’t have so much clutter? I’ve got some ways to show you how to get rid of paper clutter.

Create filing systems

How to get rid of paper clutter? Another old-school way is by putting them in labeled files. Several filing systems are logically organized, spacious and accessible. You can store loads of documents here.

However, consider your space if you’re buying a filing system; even metal rails work nicely here. If not, then utilize that empty space in your closet or add a file bind under your desk.  Once you’re sorted, separate file folders into categories: work, kids, home expenses, medicals, pet care, etc.

Switch to a calendar

You don’t need to collect every invitation or flyer. Record all activities and events on your calendar. You can create a paper grid calendar – the minimalist paper clutter solver – to list out important dates. You could upgrade to digital calendar apps to install on your PC or smartphone.

These apps even remind you when an important event is coming up. If you are still sent paper invites bills reminders, simply save the date on your calendar and recycle that paper.

Photo management

Photos are something that can’t be thrown away. Yet, on the other hand, too many frames are cutting down on valuable desktop space. There’s no reason to hide away your memories in a box under the bed. You could put them in an album that you can keep next to your desk, on a file cabinet or book rack. Otherwise, have them pinned on a wall-mounted corkboard.
