What makes a Family a Family?

My family consists of a mother, a father, a brother, and a cute little pet who is a part of our lives every single day. And I am the sister. I think they are just perfect for me. You see, my parents have their own way of parenting that I may or may not understand. I know now why my parents are a little strict, it isn’t because they are trying to be perfect parents but because they are trying to be one for me and my brother. I am not saying that every parent should be just like them because I know every single one out there is doing their best and what they can for their own kids, and we should appreciate that. Me and my brother aren’t the ideal siblings. We sometimes want to spend time together when we can’t do anything else or probably just sit right next to each other just going about our business, plus we fight sometimes too. But after a while we just talk and act like it didn’t happened or just watch videos on Youtube and laughed it off. We have our ways of being crazy yet thoughtful kids and siblings, but we never forget to be there for each other’s backs. And our cat who has a routine of eating and sleeping has a way to make the family happy. So you see, for a kid like me, I need some people like them even if I know it or not. I just choose to love them for who they are and also because they are my family, literally speaking. But they are not the only one in my life, I have plenty more. Just like my friends at school, I feel so good to be with them they seem so them if you know what I mean. They are like amazing and funny sisters. My family from other countries or cities both from mom and dad’s side. They may not be inside my home but I know they are my loved ones. I did say that it’s only me and my brother, but we also include someone whom we’ve grew up with. She was there when me and my brother was born. My parents love her and will always will. She is like a daughter to them and a sister to us. She lives far away but she always makes it up to us, and we are always excited whenever she comes home. She is a part of our childhood and our lives.

A family doesn’t always consists of a mother, a father, a brother, a sister, and a pet to complete the whole package. It’s about the people who you spend your time with and the people you have. I’m pretty sure even friends have the same habits as siblings. They share food still even if there only little, they laugh together, and I still recall my friends sitting right next to each other but still going about their own business. And the best part, is that near or far they are always gonna be there for you. That is what we should always keep in mind. I am also sure that a lot of people can agree with me that our teachers at school also have something in common with our parents. They teach us and care for us as if we are their own children. And they do get mad at us sometimes but that doesn’t mean that they don’t care for us anymore, is because they do. And parents also does that. There are also times in our life that we might need to teach someone a lesson, but we can’t exactly do that because we feel bad for them. Just like me feeling bad to get mad at my cat for peeing outside his litter box because his too cute or adorable to lecture at. But still we love them and care for them. So look at the ones you have, even though you might not have the same blood type or came from the same birth mom. What matters is that you treat each other as if you truly are a FAMILY.
