Benefits of Daily Meditation and Sadhana

There have been multiple studies, experiments and books to tell us the benefits of meditation. The truth however is, since it isn’t one size fits all, everyone experiences different things when they meditate, thus leading to different results. Now, Sadhana and meditation are words that are used interchangeably, but are indeed two very different practices.

Sadhana is a disciplined spiritual practice that needs to be done everyday, consistently, involves some kind of Mantra chanting, is done at the same place every day (preferably) and involves the presence of deity.

Meditation however, can be done anywhere, doesn’t necessarily involve any chanting and has many forms and does not need a discipline to be done. Accordingly, the results of both practices also differ. In this blog, we will discuss the benefits of each, meditation and Sadhana.

Benefits of Meditation –
You gain a new perspective to many situations and are able to hence view them less stressfully, thus dievising possible solutions.
Stress management becomes easy as you end up developing skills to manage and reduce your stress and anxiety.
One becomes more self aware and is able to introspect and find their internal issues, so they can resolve them
Focusing on the present becomes easy
Meditation helps in increasing imagination and creativity
A person’s patience and tolerance also improve as results of meditation.
Benefits of Sadhana –
Since Sadhana is a disciplined spiritual practice, it is targeted and is focused on specific areas in life and also all areas as a whole. The benefits of Sadhana therefore include –

Healing of any and all spiritual, physical, material, emotional and mental issues – This leads to abundance and happiness in all areas of life. A person’s finances, their physical health, mental accuracy and emotional well-being come in alignment.
Balancing, healing and empowering of all Chakras – This leads to spiritual ascension along with material success and joy in all areas of life.
Increase in Power – As a person begins spiritually ascending, their powers in both spiritual and material worlds begin rising. Intuition, clairvoyance, healing, great business decisions and accuracy in work are just a few examples of initial abilities a person develops when they begin Sadhana.
Performing Sadhana everyday brings in a sense of discipline and purpose in one’s life and the Sadhak begins understanding their role in the universe.
Relationships with family, friends and romantic partners begin flourishing as they also begin getting the benefits of Sadhana.
The mysteries of the universe begin unfolding in front of the Sadhaka one by one and all their questions are answered.
These are just the basic benefits of beginning Sadhana. The greater, deeper effects begin showing as a person goes deeper into Sadhana and spends more time practising their spiritual work.

One needs to understand here that while anyone can begin meditation, Sadhana should initially begin under the guidance of a Guru and requires patience and understanding at the Sadhak’s part. Whether the Guru is physically present or is providing the instructions online, their word has to be taken and followed to every tiny detail to ensure success in Sadhana.
