Women are more affected than men when it comes to depression. What are the depression symptoms in women? How does depression affect women? Know everything about depression in women.

Some of the most common symptoms of female depression include:

  • not enjoying the same hobbies or interests that you once did, or not getting the same amount of pleasure from these activities
  • having thoughts about death
  • having dramatic mood swings
  • not being able to sleep well at night
  • crying without any specific cause
  • feeling like you’re not worth anything or are inadequate
  • losing an abnormal amount of weight at one time
  • not being able to focus for very long

Depression can impact every area of a woman’s life – including your physical health, social life, relationships, career, and sense of self-worth – and is complicated by factors such as reproductive hormones, social pressures, and the unique female response to stress.

For curing depression, most doctors suggest antidepressants to their depressed patients. However, it comes with a wide range of side effects like nausea, agitation, headaches, sexual problems, sleep disturbance, and more. Plus, attending therapy sessions is also a very effective way of curing depression in women. The Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, aka CBT, is one of the major therapies for curing depression, and if needed, depressed women should not hesitate to go.

In a workplace, all employees, especially women, should be continuously tested with workplace stress tests. It will help them know about their stress levels. Once aware, they can take the proper course of action to cure or reduce it. So, don’t let your life suffer and look for some timely cure.
