I’m a word nerd.
I love words and everything about them. I love writing them, dangling the unexpected, and discovering wordplay that will turn eyes. I like learning new words. I like using old words. I like—gasp—writing words by hand.
You see, I send letters.
And when I write letters is when I wish most that I could draw. I like to doodle in the margins or decorate envelopes. Anything. But my attempts have always been, shall we say, a little lacking? Or maybe a nicer word is endearing. To conquer this I turned to Instagram. There are an incredible number of talented and interesting artists sharing their work and offering guides to those of us that need a helping hand.
From the artist Kelly Klapstein (@kellycreates) on Instagram, here are five video tutorials to get in the mood for spooky season and, if so inclined, decorate a few handwritten notes to send a Halloween greeting.
