Happy Birthday Chris Jericho The #GOAT.

Wishing a very happy 51st birthday to the legendary Chris Jericho. One of the greatest professional wrestler of all time, a legendary author and an incredible playback singer, the man who is the leader of both his music band Fozzy and the professional wrestling company AEW. In my opinion he is the greatest over all performer of all time. Jericho made a name for himself in WCW and in that process went on to become household name based upon his hard work and charisma where he established himself as one of the most incredible in ring performer of his era and was solid on the microphone, some of his greatest rivals from WCW include the great Rey Mysterio, Dean Malenko and Juventud Guerrera. Jericho later made his WWE debut in 1999 against The Rock and absolutely owned The Rock in that segment till he was speaking and was in control of the microphone, he impressed the Rock himself with his calibre and impressing The Rock is no any ordinary feat if y’all know what I mean. In WWE Jericho established himself as one of the most decorated professional wrestler of all time he went on to win 6 world titles in the company alongside having the accolade of most reigns as Intercontinental Champion in company’s history with 9 overall reigns. He was the first ever Undisputed World Champion and he earned that right when he defeated The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin on the same night at The Vengeance payperview in 2001. Apart from achieving monumental success in the heavyweight division Jericho also passed with flying colours in the cruiserweight division where he holds the accolade of having combined 4 reigns as The Cruiserweight Champion. Jericho’s greatest quality back then and still today is that he elevates young talents around him and can read talent & potential incredibly well, he believes in making more stars around him by utilizing his own star power. Jericho has one of the most incredible mind in the business and easily owns one of the sharpest brain in the entire world of professional wrestling which in itself is one of the biggest reason he helped create the concept of Money In The Bank way back in 2005.

Jericho firmly believes in the fact that if you’ve got an idea you better utilize it and most importantly believe in yourself and your potential cause the first step towards excellence is in understanding our own potential. Some of the biggest rivals of Jericho from WWE include the likes of Shawn Michaels, The Rock, Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton, Triple H, Kevin Owens, etc. His match in the main event of Wrestlemania against Shawn Michaels is regarded as one of the best main event match in Wrestlemania history and Jericho himself considers that to be his best ever wrestlemania match. During 2008-09 Jericho turned heel and his heel turn received praises worldwide as the villain character of Jericho got heat globally over his questionable tactics against the veterans and the legends of professional wrestling which led to a handicap match at Wrestlemania 25 where Jericho competed against Jimmy Snuka, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat and Roddy Piper the match was eventually won by Chris Jericho. Jericho’s theme song “Break The Walls Down” is widely regarded as one of the best ever entrance theme song in history of WWE and the craze of this song on the young audience could only be imagined it was so drastic and still is to this date, Jericho became the style icon for the youth and his mere name begun to motivate and inspire an entire generation the “Y2J” character absolutely took the world by storm and the name Chris Jericho was on the top of the lungs of the audience globally. Through his will power and endurance Jericho defied all the odds to become one of the biggest ever name in the wrestling industry. In the year 2016 Jericho combined with the then Universal Champion Kevin Owens went on to perhaps produce the feud of entire year where Jericho would protect his best friend in his title matches and they both would be by each other’s side. I personally feel this feud & storyline had to be one of the best in the history of WWE and the fact that Jericho at that age was so damn good is enough proof to prove how good he has been as an overall performer, it was during this time when the famous “You just made the list” Jericho avatar appeared and begun to rule the world all over again and turned back the clock with his vintage style. Jericho single handedly put over a pen and a paper and the audience couldn’t get enough of that every single time it was like a magician would come out to that ring every single time and hypnotize his audience with each and every one of his act, that’s right Chris Jericho has been a magician in the world of professional wrestling whose aura kept getting stronger with time because he is one of the hardest working man in this industry. Many including me believe that Kevin Owens who was the then Universal Champion should have defended his universal Championship in the main event of Wrestlemania 36 against Chris Jericho solely based upon the success they both had working together with each other in that feud and most importantly they both are so good inside the ring they would have stolen the show in the main event and the incredible storyline was always there to back up the claim however they still had their match at wrestlemania and it was a decent match. Jericho left WWE for NJPW and challenged Kenny Omega to a match at Wrestle Kingdom 12 at Tokyo Dome on November 5th 2017 in an epic promo where Jericho laid claim that they whoever said they were the best they all faded away but Jericho was still there and that he was the Alpha of professional wrestling and he wanted to humble the Omega of professional wrestling in his own backyard in front of his people. Omega accepted his challenge and the magnitude of this incredible once in a generation match in all likeliness led to the birth of All Elite Wrestling. At the age of 47 years Jericho earned himself a 5 star match which not only speaks volumes of his hunger to deliver at the grandest of stages again and again but also Jericho showed the whole world that you can adjust to any style of wrestling at any point in your career if you have the hunger to succeed and remain the best in the world. Jericho holds the accolade of being the only wrestler on this planet to have won the Intercontinental Championship at least once both in WWE as well as NJPW and his “Painmaker” gimmick terrorized entire NJPW roster where Jericho dominated with Iron fist.
Sometimes I just sit back and admire his incredible ability to give equally incredible performance in which ever field he tried his hands in from Wrestling to Singing to being an Author he has won the heart of the fans all across the globe and the greatest aspect about him is he keeps taking notes and keeps learning from everyone around him, he is an apt risk taker but at the same time is as calculative as they come. Jericho’s understanding and execution skills are too damn good and he utilizes his skills to elevate everyone around him. The moment Chris Jericho joined AEW the entire landscape of pro wrestling changed you can say this way, one of the biggest game changer in pro wrestling history. His brain, star power & drawing power has benefitted All Elite Wrestling and TNT network so damn much it cannot be explained in words. He has been the catalyst to everything about the rise of AEW. There was a time I could’ve only dreamt about everything that AEW today are giving to us. Being a wrestling fan today is probably the best feeling, we are watching Suzuki vs Moxley live on ppv we’re watching Miro absolutely dominate his opponents. You are watching two of the best outright tag team in the world Young Bucks and the Lucha Brothers absolutely wreak havoc inside the squared circle in a classic tag match and when new tag team champions were crowned it was AEW which gave fans enough time to soak in the moment. There was a time AEW were just born we did not know lots and lots of talents might as well never heard their name hell I wasn’t even knowing about Omega till 1st Dynamite but the fact you were in AEW always portrayed the feeling that wow Jericho is there let’s see the rest. In the process of seeing the rest we saw them all & we understood that all of them are special & so many of them Jericho himself elevated & brought to our notice in his maiden AEW world title reign, reason why it was the best decision to have Jericho as the maiden AEW champion. So for all of that today the fans see the result the amazing result with AEW but there is something called process and the process has Chris Irvine Jericho written all over it.
Thank you Jericho all the joy of today would not have been possible without your presence and your hard work. Chris Jericho went on to main event the first ever payperview in All Elite Wrestling’s history AEW Double Or Nothing where he defeated Kenny Omega he later went on to become the inaugural AEW World Champion by defeating Hangman Adam Page at AEW All Out payperview. In his World Title reign Jericho elevated almost entire young roster of AEW talent pool and exposed their talent in front of the whole world. I personally consider this World title reign of Jericho which lasted over 6 months as one of the best and one of the most significant World title reign of past number of years in all of professional wrestling, simply put the amount of work load Jericho dealt with and he was at his lethal best putting over entire AEW talent pool and leading an entire company on his back. The work ethic of Jericho is just incredible and motivational it seems he wants to work all the time and always wants to give back to his fans and his profession, the man has given his entire life and his career to the fans and there is a reason why the legendary Nature Boy Ric Flair went on to greet Jericho as one of the best ever in this industry couple of months ago. AEW have given Jericho the creative freedom which he uses in order to help the entire company grow be it the Five labours of Jericho or his entrance without music and crowd chanting for him we can clearly observe that Jericho’s sharp brain is paying the dividends and helping the company on long term basis.
The way Jericho takes time from his busy schedule to greet his fans on social media and the way he always is supportive of the younger talents and elevates them that truly defines him for me. His mere presence is enough to raise the bar he has helped his company AEW in so many ways from being the face of the company helping reach the product till the people allowing them to engage with the product and react accordingly. When you want to achieve success of highest order you call out Jericho and he will take care of the rest. His enthusiasm and hunger to keep working hard day in and day out is something which can inspire the youth and from where I come from duty is god.
As a playback singer Chris Jericho has been monumental in the success of Fozzy Rock band which is one of the best Rock band in all of USA in my opinion and while it might not have reached the level of popularity yet as compared to Linkin Park or Green Day but with Chris Jericho as the leader they are surely going to reach the heights and beyond in few years’ time. One of the most famous songs from the band, Judas is also used as the entrance theme song of Chris Jericho and this song has absolutely taken the world by storm, the lyrics, the execution, the entire thing about this song is so moving it can inspire you yet at the same time dismantle your soul from within. I like Fozzy a lot personally and all the songs are awesome while my top 4 favourite songs from Fozzy are: Burn Me Out, Judas, Nowhere To Run & Painless.
There are only few individuals who can capture the heart and brain of the audience like Chris Jericho and his greatest weapon is his charisma and sharp brain coupled with his vision which can read the future. He knows how to make the audience move and the greatest aspect about him is he believes in the value of team work. Life gave him many setbacks and he could have sat back and given up any time but the monster in him never gave up it just kept getting stronger. A true champion and a true warrior turns 51 years old today. Wish you many happy returns of the day #GOAT.
