Music Trends on the Rise

Today we’re going to be looking at the top music trends that are currently on the rise.

Music Livestreaming on Social Media

In today’s day and age, it’s so easy to keep in touch with our favorite artists. One way to keep in touch is to watch artists livestream their music. With the easy availability of top-level equipment for sound systems, people are able to create and stream their own studio-level gigs in the privacy and comfort of their own homes. While we’re in the pandemic, it’s difficult to be comfortable with going to concerts, so the ability to watch full performances while you’re safe in your own home is one of the most incredible parts of technology.

People are flocking to social media to show people their talents. According to the Recording Industry Association of America, 83% of music revenues in 2020 – worth $10.1 billion – came from streaming services.

The Rise of Indie Artists

It’s everyone’s dream to make it big in the music world, and right now, it’s as good a time as any to start trying. As the pandemic rages on, more people are looking to start pursuing music. Something that’s good about the music industry is that you need to have a musical gift, the willingness to learn more, and the dedication to continue working hard, and you can make it in the industry. In 2020, according to Rolling Stone, independent music generated $2 billion.

Musical Documentaries and Visual Albums

We all know and love music, and we have our favorite artists. Something that’s coming about is visual albums. These albums, originally made popular by Beyonce, who put out 17 videos to go along with her album in 2013, were first coined by the Beatles, who incorporated mini-films with their albums, such as Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

People longing to show off their creativity in ways they couldn’t with their album are now wanting to create documentaries to go along with their album, showing the process of recording their music and putting the tracks together. Most notable can be Taylor Swift and her Disney+ documentary of Folklore and the Long Pond Studio Sessions.
