The Top Health Organizations to Donate to

In the 21st century, new technology means that we have more information available to us than ever before, and new ideas can come from anyone, anywhere. In a world with a population of over 7.8 billion people and countless gadgets, innovations in health care will be crucial for generations yet unborn. The following organizations are just 4 of many making great strides in the world of health care.

1). Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN)

GAIN’s mission is to deliver nutrition solutions across the entire value chain. The organization works with governments, private sector partners, civil society organizations, farmer organizations, local communities, and others to build effective national programs that promote better nutrition. GAIN has created a unique approach in the field of nutrition, bringing together governments and businesses with coordinated strategies in the areas of food and nutrition security, improved agricultural production and commercialization, and improved nutrition.

2). Mothers 2 Mothers

This organization was formed by a group of women and health care professionals with extensive experience in HIV/AIDS who saw the need to address the rising trend of maternal-to-child transmission (MTCT) of HIV. Mothers 2 Mothers focus on supporting mothers living with HIV to give their children a healthy start in life. The aim is to reduce the MTCT of HIV from 50% to less than 5% by 2025. By providing comprehensive support to African mothers living with HIV, Mothers 2 Mothers aims to prevent up to 18,000 new infections every year.

3). International Medical Corps

International Medical Corps is a global, humanitarian, nonprofit organization committed to relieving suffering and saving lives through rigorous health care training and the provision of relief and development programs. For nearly three decades, IMC has provided lifesaving care in more than 60 countries impacted by war (including Sudan), disease (including tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS), disasters (including earthquakes and tsunamis), and complex health emergencies (including the current Ebola crisis).

4). Heart to Heart International

Heart to Heart International is an international humanitarian organization founded in 1997 by 20 American cardiologists. HHI has more than 3,000 physician volunteers who provide free medical services in 30 countries worldwide. HHI’s priority programs are cardiovascular disease, often in partnership with the local Red Cross, and maternal-child health.
