Children usually progress through developmental stages at a similar rate; however, it is not rare for one child to surpass another.
A kid with Global Developmental Delay (GDD) usually has delays in several areas of development. Speech and language, social, cognitive, play, and motor skills are all possible areas of uncertainty. Children with GDD are often younger or behind their typically developing classmates in terms of development.
GDD can lead to a more precise diagnosis, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, in a kid (ASD). This isn’t always the case, though.
What symptoms should you watch for in children with GDD?
It is usually discovered after the birth of a child by the parents. This could be due to an issue that existed prior to birth, an issue that occurred during birth (for example, if the infant did not receive enough oxygen or was born too soon), a childhood sickness, or a physical accident that occurred during early childhood.
