4 Pivotal Transits this April—it’s the Time for New Beginnings. {Jyotish Sidereal Astrology}

*Whether astrology is science or magic, we’re open to most things, if they may be of benefit. ~ Ed.

*Author’s note: Vedic Astrology, or Jyotish, is one of the oldest sciences on the planet and is considered a relative of astronomy. It is an important and valuable part of the ancient Vedic texts. This complex, logic-based, and also intuitive science has survived thousands of years in India’s Vedic tradition and is still considered a highly valuable tool of guidance and life insight. It is not a religion, but rather a philosophical understanding of human and cosmic existence. In Sanskrit, jyoti means light. Essentially, the study of jyotish is the study of light and how we interact with the cosmic light—within us and within the cosmos. Vedic astrology, or the sidereal approach to astrology, casts charts differently than Western or Tropical astrology. The meanings, implications, and purpose of jyotish are therefore different, as are the details used for prediction and the indications given below.

April 2022 will be a pivotal moment in time for the planet.

All four major planets change signs in the same month, which will inevitably shift multiple areas of life all at once.

Saturn, Jupiter, Rahu, and Ketu will all transit to new signs within the month of April, indicating changes coming with structure, body, and stability, as well as knowledge, guidance, and spirituality. Rahu’s and Ketu’s movement will ensure that our karmic lessons shift as well, bringing a whole new set of inner and outer transformations—both spiritually and materially.

Jupiter shifts to his own sign, Pisces, on April 13th.

For many, this will be a nourishing transit and bring many gifts of Jupiter. Depending on his placement in your birth chart and your relationship with sattva, Jupiter can bring important expansion, nourishment, and wise guidance during this year-long cycle. His role is to bring us pure knowledge and wise council for our spiritual path.

While transiting Pisces, he can offer more of his support and do so in a harmonious way. If you are a wisdom worker, this is a transit you will need to pay attention to. Don’t sit this one out. It’s time for you to rise and shine.

To understand how this transit will impact you personally, notice where Pisces lives in your Jyotish chart.

What knowledge and wisdom is feeling nourishing for you right now?

Where do you need to strengthen your support team?

How are you showing up for yourself, your body, and your inner knowing?

What does wise council feel like for you?

Rahu and Ketu move to Aries and Libra on April 12th.

Whenever the lunar nodes shift, we must acknowledge that our relationship with our own karma is also changing for a year and a half. The way we interact with our shadow and light, darkness and insight, and challenges and resources will also be going through a major transformation. Rahu in Aries will request an ego-identity shift, so be mindful of what must be transformed so you can awaken the new.

Remember that your resistance will only cause more pain. Ketu in Libra is transforming relationships, balance, and trimming away anything that does not honor full integration. Whatever is in the way of merging with your wholeness needs to be cut, cleared, and deleted.

Notice in your Jyotish chart where Aries and Libra are. This will help you clarify how this transit will impact your karma in the next 18 months.

Where are you holding onto old identities that are no longer serving you?

What is the fresh start you are yearning for?

What needs to change in your life and relationships for more balance and harmony?

Where are the imbalances in your giving and receiving?

Saturn moves to Aquarius, his own sign, on April 28th.

Although Saturn enjoys Aquarius and he can feel harmonious here, this two-and-half-year cycle indicates a need for integration, balance, and harmony with opposing forces. Aquarius has dual rulership of Saturn and Rahu. Wherever there is lack of structure and balance, Saturn will force it to change. Ultimately, he wants everybody to be in right relationship with Natural Law. When we are imbalanced, he causes disease. This transit can bring gains, but we must be willing to make space for them.

What needs to be released in order to make space for the new?

What desires are causing imbalances and disharmony?

Where do you need more structure and boundaries in life and body?

April will be a pivotal moment in time for all. The impact of four major planets shifting within weeks of each other indicates that multiple areas of life will be changing simultaneously. These new planetary cycles will impact the body, support systems, life force energy, guidance, wisdom, sense of self, and purpose, as well as relationships and business.

We will all be asked to show up in new ways—for ourselves and others. Expect to feel disoriented and confused as you sift and sort the old from the new. Give yourself patience and gentleness in this major transition process. There will be multiple challenges and many gifts, so pay attention and make the necessary changes along the way.

The gift of the next year is having both Saturn and Jupiter transit their own signs simultaneously. Having these two major planets in placements of balance will support stability and strength on multiple levels. The year ahead is a good time to create a solid foundation for yourself, your life, and your offerings.

Be vigilant!
