The best U.S. destinations for Sunday Funday

In the United States, we love pairing our days of the week with special activities.

We go crazy for Taco Tuesdays, run to our favorite bar for Thirsty Thursdays, and we may even dread our tortuous Manic Mondays. But perhaps the best day of the week is a Sunday Funday.

Sunday Funday culture has encouraged us to drop our “Sunday Scaries” and those dreaded thoughts of starting a new week with more responsibilities. It’s simply a day to kick back, destress, and hang out with your favorite people.

Many Sunday Funday activities include day drinking, exploring your city, hopping around from bar to bar, and enjoying the fresh air. It’s also a great time to take some pics with your squad to post on social media. In fact, the #SundayFunday has been used over 12 million times on Instagram.

And while there are no limits to where you can celebrate a Sunday Funday, certain cities are better equipped than others for a fun time. Fashion Nova recently analyzed data from cities across the country to determine the best and worst cities for a Sunday Funday.

“Ultimately, we considered eight ranking factors to find out which cities are best for Sunday Funday, which fell under four categories: restaurants, booze, entertainment, and transportation,” said the clothing company.

These factors included the number of bars, beer gardens, and breweries in a certain city, as well as other fun factors like the number of barcades, scooter docking stations, and the best cost of an Uber ride.

Each of the eight factors was graded on a five-point scale, with a score of five representing the best conditions.

According to the study, the best city in America for a Sunday Funday is none other than Boston. The Massachusetts capital scored a total of 42 points, ranking especially high in its walkability score.

Following behind Bean Town was Minneapolis, with a considerably low average cocktail price of $11. At No. 3, Portland scored a grand total of 39.65, while Atlanta and San Francisco came in at No. 5 and 6.
