The Microphone Is My Spirit Animal….What does this mean?
“Spirit animals” are sometimes considered actual spirits, but a more logical rendering would be that they are anthropomorphisms of messages from consciousness.
I.e., basically we, or the collective unconscious, is communicating messages to us using the symbolism of animals by giving them human qualities.
In which case, anything we have a relationship with can play the function of ‘spirit animal’.We can take any idea and personify it.
Anthropomorphism is essentially the humanization of animals or objects as a literary tool.
Thus, when the microphone becomes a living entity, stepping onto the stage is no longer mental recitation of a memorized talk, but living wildly with relationship to the present moment.
We as speakers should recognize that taking the mic is a doorway to another reality and that we have so much to learn from this place.
If the microphone was your spirit animal what would it be called. Mine would be the Raging Bullfrog or the Timid Fox.
What’s yours?
(You actually just get to make it up).
