In this Article we want to Highlight Ivan Blanco and his love for Climbing. Ivan has been climbing for a few years now but has had a passion for it for quite some time. At 42 he has discovered the love for it that he never knew he had. This last year he’s taken it more seriously and works on his climbing skills at various indoor facilities and challenging himself on vertical climbs at some pretty wicked places in the Midwest. He pretty much had a love for the outdoors since he was a kid. At the age of 12 he started hiking and backpacking with his Dad who with his help showed him all he knows. In his words “Outdoors is just a different feeling, I get to explore and experience things 70% of the world has not seen”

He also enjoys Challenging himself  by taking on hikes that no one else does, the ones that are 9+ miles just to test his limits. “It’s the same thing with Climbing” he says, “The Adrenaline rush you get and the accomplishment of Climbing routes only a handful of people have done. The views you see from those high places and climbing such a high distance is a feeling you cannot explain”. It gets even better for him because he gets to experience these moments with his son and show him just like his Dad did. His son also loves the Outdoors and climbs with him as well. His plans for this upcoming year are to continue to Challenge himself and improve his skills to be able to take on more difficult walls and Climbs.
