I’ve Spent Over 50k on Coaching, Here’s What I’ve Learned From It

“Everyone needs a coach”, said Eric Schmidt, former chairman of Google and Alphabet. In fact, according to Schmidt, having a coach can be a company’s or an entrepreneur’s most valuable asset. However, while most successful people do rely on coaching, there are also good reasons why not everyone is qualified to be your coach or the same strategy applies to every business.

3 Questions to ask yourself when investing in a coach:

  1. Will this program or coach help me reach my goals faster?
  2. Has this coach helped other brands like me, or are they sharing through personal experience?
  3. What would it feel like to be in the energy of this program, and what is the dream level of support I hope to receive?

5 signs that you may be being overcoached or giving away your power

  1. You tend to use the same language or haven’t decided how you process the information provided
    1. Our perspective is what makes us our most powerful. Your leadership gets to be influenced, but not puppeteered by your coaches. Take a moment to consider what you like about your coach or what you dislike. Then, how you would do it differently?
  2. You doubt yourself when trying something other than what your coach suggests and don’t feel supported to make that choice
    1. There’s not only one way to make money, especially with the internet. So lean into how you are different. What makes sense for you?
  3. You feel like you NEED another program vs the desire to be in their energy and support
    1. Take into account where you’d like to have support
  4. You’ve lost touch with your intuition and what feels best for you
    1. Sammy says I should do it this way… But what do you say?
  5. You don’t feel as if you are enough or worthy enough until you do this next program
    1. How can you see yourself as always worthy and always enough and use support, community, and expertise to simply radiate more of that to the world?
