There I was once again sitting on my mother’s front step. Homeless, penniless and hopeless. “Not again I said to myself.” I had lost everything (that I thought) mattered in my life and once again I had to start over.

My 16-year battle with drug addiction was on its last leg and I knew it was time for a change.

The day I was forced to move back home was the day that catapulted me into an awakening. I was finally exhausted from running from my demons and all I wanted to do was sleep. That night I had a dream about an Angel-like being standing on a clock tower. She stared at me beyond my eyes and into my soul and told me that it was time! As I awoke from the dream, I innately knew that it was time for me to do my inner work, my inner healing and I was ready!

When we are truly ready for change, we can feel something deep inside of us that can’t be explained. It calls us from the depths of our beings, nudging at us to set it free, that is when we can fully liberate our potential.

That morning I made a declaration that I would now live the life of my dreams and I loudly exclaimed “I AM A SINGER THAT TRAVELS ALL AROUND THE WORLD.”

I knew that I had to scream this affirmation so that all the cells in my body could not only hear me but listen and follow through with what I was planning. After making that declaration I began to cut out people, places, and things that did not align with that truth. I started to listen to healing frequencies to rewire my brain and reprogram my subconscious mind.

I made a recording in my own voice with “I AM” affirmations of everything that I wanted to be and I would listen to it every night in my sleep. This time I was going to win and nothing would stop me! I had decided to become the superhero of my life and that’s when Nitro Nitra was born.

Within 2 years, I created and released an album, got a band, went on a regional tour, and this year appear and competed on national television (NBC). It’s amazing how the universe unlocks opportunities for us if we set our intentions and decide on who we want to be in this life.

We must remain grateful and open ourselves up to the possibilities of what could be. We are not our circumstances and nothing is written in stone. We have the power to transcend and rise above any and everything if we just persist. I don’t know what exactly the future holds but I know as long as we continuing being the superheroes of our lives and choosing to be the best versions of ourselves, a whole new world of wonder and freedom will reveal itself. We will experience what it means to be the royal children of the STARS!
