Gratitude and anxiety cannot coexist with one another. Same is true of fear and love, happiness and sadness, kindness and hatefulness, etc. If you don’t believe me, try doing it yourself. It’s nearly impossible.
With that being said, if you’re feeling anxious, worried, sad, or fearful, try interrupting those feelings with gratitude. Practice taking some time each day to acknowledge all that is going well in your life. Not for what was, or for what is to be, but what is going well in the present moment. Keep in mind you can always have more, but you can also have less. Be thankful for the simple pleasures that are sometimes taken for granted.
Being thankful and counting your blessings….THAT is gratitude!
