As we struggle against the alarming and often overwhelming constrictions placed upon us, freedom calls from a far distant place. So many times we are taught that the things that bind us can only be of this world. They lay claim to who we have been, who we are and what we will become – in essence – our past, present and future.
Caught in a loop that lasts a lifetime, we mayglimpse the light at the end of the tunnel but not know how to reach it. As a result, we feel ill-equipped to touch that light of freedom as living beings, and death sometimes seems the only way of reaching it.
The most common ploy used by people and organisations (managed by people) to gain control of someone is to enter into a contract, agreement, or promise, whether written, spoken or in blood. Often the liberation of a new house, a chance at a new business or even a gift turns sour, and the initial joy deteriorates until only a phantom of the self is left to take care of the debt.
Soulless and devoid of joy, the human shell trudges mechanically through the feelings of betrayal, poverty and self-doubt. What was once a glad creation or an aspiring dream becomes nothing more than aburden of total helplessness.
Now, my tale is not meant to plunge you into heaviness but to shine a light through these situations.
Most people – and I assume this is not you – become fixated and trapped by the physical, emotional and mental understanding of their situation. They give no thought to understanding it at a spiritual level, the state where true liberation can be found.
What does this look like?
The spiritual state (in communion with God, your Higher Self, or the Divine) cannot be owned or tied down. It is free and always will be, although at times it feels quite the opposite. Doors that are closed tight on a physical level, emotionally polluted and mentally tarnished remain pure, open, and clear at the spiritual level.
This is where true liberation takes place.
It is the only place that affects the other three layers, all governed by your spiritual self. But, if you never ascend the staircase and leave the physical issues, emotional dreads, and mental anguish behind for a moment, you cannot enter a place of peace and resolution.
To do this, first we place the cloak of Faith upon our shoulders. Next, we give little thought to the gift of Hope, knowing that it conceals the shadow of Doubt. Then we cross the Bridge of Beliefs to go beyond belief and enter the Realms of Knowing.
Translated into everyday language –
– We must first believe and believe that our situation can be resolved.
– It cannot be hopeless; we must release all doubt.
– We must believe it is possible
– Believing it is possible allows us to enter a place where all potentials – a vast number of them – can become possible.
– It is the place beyond belief, the place of Knowing!
It is a feeling, an intuition if you like, and you will most likely not be able to explain or prove it though it is tangible and real!
You stand in the freedom of that place and do not look down through layers of uncertainty and doubt. You do NOT take your eyes off what is possible! The chains of uncertainty and control no longer bind you. And, if you happen to slip . . . know that you may journey again over the bridge.
Once those self-imposed chains are released, it is only a few steps in the right direction to an eternity of discovery.
