THAT IS OFFENSIVE, or is it

Some people are offended by the word F**k. Other people are offended by the word S**t or Nig*er. Is not it interesting that by not wholly spelling out a word, it becomes acceptable, while all the time you are reading, you are saying that word “out loud” in your mind?

Do you know anyone who has ever been offended by what they saw or heard? What would someone have to say or do to offend you? What elements would have to be present for you to be offended?

Where is the offense? Is it the letters that I leave out that make something offensive? Or is the offense inside of you?

“As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” Proverbs 23, verse 7.

“Men are not disturbed (offended) by things, but by the view, they take of them.” Epictetus, 55 AD.

“There is nothing either good or bad (offensive), but thinking makes it so.” Shakespeare, Hamlet.

“You feel the way you do right now (offended) because of the thoughts you are thinking at this moment.” David Burns MD psychiatrist 1981.

You choose to think, and you can think whatever you want to think! For over 3000 years, some people have known this truth! You think! However, for many people, this appears to be the best-kept secret of the ages.

Being offended is not something that is being done to you. You are not a victim. It is what you are choosing to think and believe that creates your feelings of being offended.
