I love sitting down to do the reading for the upcoming year. And the minute I touched into the energy for 2023, I knew this was going to be a much better year than we’ve been having. Uplifting was one of the first words that came to me and I get the feeling that 2023 will be a welcome shift in energy from where we’ve been.

We’re moving on from the days the world stood still during Covid. We’ve had a chance to pause our lives and reassess. Now it’s time to move forward with the information we’ve collected and it’s a matter of what we’ll do with what we’ve learned.

Every year I get a few themes that are like currents of energy that will be moving during the year. And if we pay attention to them, we can ride the waves making life easier and more successful.

One of the themes for 2023 is to TRAVEL LIGHTLY. Life is accelerating and we’ve got to be light on our feet, able to adjust and pivot easily. Carrying a lot of stuff – both physical and emotional – makes shifting more awkward. Light and agile. That’s the key. Anything you can jettison that’s no longer working will be helpful. Draining relationships? Out. Clutter? Clear it! That long list of repairs? Finish it.

By clearing the dysfunctional and nonessential from your life, you’re able to stand more soundly in the moment. And that’s the only place that matters. That’s where it’s all happening!

Another theme for 2023 is to SPREAD OUT. If you tend to focus on one or two areas of your life and ignore the others, now is the time to make some adjustments. Life is fragile and relying on one area like work can be catastrophic if something falls apart there. This year, it’s time to fill out more areas of your life like health, work, family, fun, friends, love. One or two life areas are not enough anymore. Life shifts so quickly we’ve got to have a broader base.

Another characteristic of 2023 is speed. In fact, the title I got for 2023 was FAST AND FABULOUS. I believe we’re going to experience a quickening of almost everything in our external lives. At the same time, there’s a counter experience of things slowing down internally. If we stand exclusively in the material world, it may feel as if life is spinning out of control. Seek shelter within. Find your center. Go to your quiet place. While the external world feels like it’s caught in a centrifuge, our internal worlds are expanding and deepening. In 2023, inside is our safe place. Breathe. Detach. Observe. And you’ll find your way through the chaos. And that’s another of the themes for 2023: GO WITHIN.

THE NUMEROLOGY: 2+0+2+3 equals a 7 year which is just perfect. Sevens are about assessing and gathering insights. Now is a good time to meditate on questions like these:

• What have I learned?
• What do I want to carry forward?
• What needs to go?
• How can I live more
  simply?
• What has meaning to me?

All in all, I see a lot of support this year for us to restore our bodies, minds and hearts as well as choosing a more personally sustainable path. Here’s to a year of fabulous!
