I’m so fucking tired of male bashing

I’m dreaming of a world with a dialogue between the sexes

I am who I am because of the men I have loved

The men who have fought for me

Cherished me

Fucked me into existence

I walked out on a theatre full of whooping women all bowing down to Rupi Kaur for generalizing men, putting them in a box for a few claps & likes

I broke down in the comments section of a man-bashing Em Rata podcast & my inbox exploded with women who felt ashamed for seeking a relationship with a more mature partner

We live in a world of paradigm-shifting, conscious men trying to do better

Men who have been shamed, generalized, and put in a box

Men who have had their emotions mocked & denied their entire lives

Wounded boys running around this earth searching for connection

My purpose in this world is to love women

To uplift them

Guide them to their most confident fuck yes selves

But never will I ever

Get up on a stage or a podcast

And make women believe

That men are all the same

For a few likes

And yes 

I’ve been a female DJ for 12 years

I’m no stranger to patriarchy

I’ve been touched in places I didn’t want to be touched

I have been held against my own will

I have felt true fear pulsate through my veins 

I’ve said yes because it was easier than saying no

I do not let these experiences define my perspective for the entire male species

Men need love

Men need empathy

They need empowered women guiding them how to love

To unravel & unfuck them

They have been taught to ‘suck it up’

‘Be strong’

‘Be the provider’

Brought up in households of parents with no access to the tools & self-awareness we have

I invite you all

To look in the mirror the men, fathers, brothers, and partners in your life are holding up

For years I let men walk all over me

Yes me, I let it happen

I cleaned up my side of the street

Did a history lesson on myself

SET the standard of how I want to be treated

And my soul mate walked right on in

And I have never been more cherished

More seen

Loved

Heard

And supported in my entire human experience.

I invite you all

To look at the men in your life

To get curious about their childhood

To see them through the lens of a little boy

And show them what it is to be unconditionally loved by a woman who knows her worth
