Sacred Motherhood

I bring life to the world

I nurture spirits to live wild and free

I sing away fears

I wash away shame

I feed from my body and my soul

I am sacred motherhood

I am mother

I am awake in darkness

Preparing for the day

I am powerful healing and tender awareness

I am creative revolution here to serve

Insync with the seasons and the moon

Like spring I bring new life to the Earth

Like Mother Earth I live in cycles

I will never apologize for the fierceness I stand in for my family

My instincts are wild and strong and will not be tamed

I am motherhood

I bring change and grace

I wake to howl at the full moon and dance in freedom

I stand with elders to soak in wisdom

I ask Mother Earth to guide and raise me as we raise the next generation together

I could not do this without Her

Forced independence I long for a village

A village ran by mothers

Mothers nurturing self, family, and community

I am the opposite of modern culture

I seek ancient wisdom and to live in reciprocity with the land

I seek a people of ancient times

I find them in spirit and ceremony

In prayer I do not ask for blessings

But ask how I may use my gifts to create a better future all our children

I offer thanks and loyalty to the living world around me the trees, the water, the tide, the moon, the animals

They are all my relations

I do not offer thanks to a flag or a nation prone to war and violence

I sing and dance as I know my body loves to connect to spirit through this simple act

No I am not JUST a Mother but I am a mother first

I don’t go out looking for feminists fights to fight

But I do tell my daughters to speak loudly and walk tall

I teach them that they have permission to walk out of any room

To in turn walk into another where they will be heard and seen

I don’t want to prove I can do anything a man can

But the men in my life come to me asking for guidance and a washing away of shame

So that they can go back into the world and walk in their masculine essence

Protecting and providing they feel seen knowing they have a tender place to rest

In a home I create with all that I am

A safe place for all emotions all dreams and all forms of self

Past present future I hold their hearts

My boys will know the love of a whole and healed mother

They will carry it with them to their wives their children the world

They will know how to walk strong, stand up for themselves and speak their emotions tenderly

This is my sacred motherhood journey and it’s pulsating through my veins
