How Affirmations can help you Transform your Life.

I opened the front door and an overwhelming feeling of happiness and purpose washed over me.

Nothing extravagant had happened to cause such a feeling other than the warm sun shining on my face. Spring was finally here to stay.

I took a deep breath and smiled. Life felt amazing.

There was no better feeling than having the world at your feet.

But it didn’t always feel like that.

It wasn’t too long ago when life felt really hard.

Not that life was ever really easy, but there were a ton of nights when I couldn’t fall asleep. The worry took over as soon as I closed my eyes. I was back up in a matter of minutes. Unable to sleep.

There were nights when I would wake up at midnight and tears would prevent my much-needed sleep from proceeding. Unable to stop the tears.

And early morning panic attacks that would forbid me from getting out of bed. Unable to start my day.

It still amazes me that someone can actually function for years with no sleep, a bunch of tears, and no purpose in life. When I say function, I mean, I was able to move about my day in an orderly fashion, but it didn’t mean I was functioning all too well.

Life was hard, and I felt empty inside. Sleepless nights made me feel lost and confused. What was my purpose in life if I was always trying to catch up?

I read somewhere that making one small change in your daily routine could turn things around. One small tweak to your life could change everything about it. Since I was up all hours of the night, I began a daily affirmation. It was a statement about myself to encourage me. It was a positive statement to motivate me, to challenge me, and to push me to reach my full potential.

So instead of fighting with sleep or playing the victim with my tears, I came up with one statement about myself that made me feel good.

It felt strange at first. I didn’t know where to start.

I did some research and found examples of what an affirmation would look like. I have never done this before so I needed some inspiration.

Once I created my affirmation, I typed it into an alarm on my phone, which was set to go off once a day.

I also wrote my affirmation on a piece of paper and placed it under my pillow. When I couldn’t sleep, I’d say it. When I felt the tears building, I’d say it. When I couldn’t get out of bed in the morning, I’d say it.

Days, weeks, and months were moving along, and I stuck to it, sometimes saying the words in my head that I had by now memorized. Other times, I shouted it out into the universe. The more I said it, I felt different.

My kids told me it was placebo. And maybe it was. But I don’t think that it mattered much because the more I said my affirmation, the better I felt. The better I felt, the more alive I felt. The more alive I felt, the happier my life became.

It was a cycle of good feelings. I said my affirmations, I felt good; I kept saying affirmations, I kept feeling good.

Positive affirmations can help overcome self-doubt and negative thinking.

I began to feel amazing all of the time. Life was still really hard. But if I was able to feel good on the good days, and even during the hard ones, life didn’t feel as hard.

Daily affirmations have an impact on the way we experience pain. Knowing that we have the ability to manage stress and other life difficulties can help charge empowerment, further promoting faith in who we are.

Overcoming self-doubt and negativity brings happiness. Happiness brings purpose.

The benefits of affirmations are endless. I achieved great things and made positive changes in my life.

The more positive changes I noticed, the more affirmations I added to my day. Every day. The regular repetition of my statements about myself encouraged me to believe the positive affirmations as true.

When we truly believe we can do something, our actions often follow.

Affirmations had the power to motivate me to help concentrate on achieving my goals in life. They gave me the power to change my negative thinking and replace them with positive thinking. They helped me create a new belief system. They also reaffirmed the positivity back into my life to help find my confidence.

If you’ve never tried affirmations before, the idea might feel awkward, but the positive results are no lie.

Say them aloud or to yourself; it is up to you as long as you say them daily.

Start with “I am.” Affirmations are almost a type of manifestation that use positive statements written or stated in the present tense.

Do them at anytime of the day, but do them regularly. In order for this to work, you need to repeat the affirmation daily, and truly believe in the words you are saying.

Give your affirmation feeling. The purpose of positive affirmations is to help you overcome negative thoughts that make you doubt yourself, so create an affirmation that has feeling. Something to minimize negativity and help you see yourself in a positive light.

You must put in your best efforts in order for the positive affirmations to work. These phrases boost motivation and self-esteem, but you must follow through.

Affirmations are a way to get around the barricades of your mind, to change it piece by piece into accepting a new reality.

If you say affirmations every day, your life will f*cking transform.

Here are some of my favorite affirmations that I have used over the years:

“I feel incredible.”

“I embrace the rhythm of life and let it unfold.”

“I attract all that is good in this universe.”

“The love that I give to others is reflected back to me.”

“I am the best version of myself. I am ready to achieve my goals.”

“Everything goes my way.”

“The universe is always working in my favor.”

“I am powerful and in control of my reality.”

“I am thankful for this day and grateful for new opportunities.”

“I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.”

“I am worthy.”

“I can become anything I put my mind to.”

“I love and accept this mind and body. I will nourish and cherish them through loving thoughts today, and always.”

“I am enough, and I will always be enough. And I am constantly growing and evolving into a better person.”

“I am learning from every situation to better help me understand myself.”

“My life is filled with abundance.”

I am the affirmations that I shout out to the world. By encouraging an optimistic mindset, I am able to see the beauty in everything. Even the simple things I took for granted before, like the warm sun on my face or a single flower in a meadow. Things I knew I missed when I was drowning.

Affirmations will change you. They will change your outlook on life. They will shine happiness on you. And they will bring you peace and purpose.

Be inspired to transform your life.
