I am good at crying silently.
Slowly, or quickly, tears sting my eyes.
But I can blink them back,
Press my fingers into the corners of my eyes,
Hard. To push the tears back in.
Notice though, a tear in my voice,
Which I can’t hide,
Unless I am silent.
Breathe, breath,
Don’t let my breath give me away.
Letting you know I am crying
Brings me more pain
So I smile, pretend, look away.
And I cry silently.
